Township Auditorium Foundation Retains Marketing Performance

The Township Auditorium Foundation has retained Marketing Performance, LLC to complete a comprehensive fund raising program that will run concurrently with the Township Auditorium’s $12 million renovation project.

Construction is slated to begin in the summer of 2009 and includes an expanded lobby, backstage support area, upgraded box office, modernized concession area and improved restroom facilities. All money collected during the fund raising campaign will be used to further programs of the Foundation.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to help garner support for the Township Auditorium during its renovation phase,” said Robert Butt, president of Marketing Performance. “The economic impact that this venue makes within Richland County annually is expansive. People travel from across the nation to attend shows here.”

Constructed in 1930 and located at the corner of Taylor and Henderson Streets, the Township Auditorium was the first multi-purpose showplace in the Carolinas. The venue has played host to an array of national and international entertainers, high school and college graduations, dances, recitals and inaugural galas. Previous acts include performances from Duke Ellington to Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley to George Carlin and appearances Eleanor Roosevelt and Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr.

“The Township Auditorium is looking forward to better serving the community with our venue improvements, and we are proud to have partnered with Marketing Performance for our fundraising and public relations campaign,” said Executive Director Sally Roach. “We are looking forward to re opening our doors in 2010.”
